5 of the most expensive gifts to buy this Christmas

We're diving right into the most expensive Christmas gifts you could ever possibly purchase.

Those who want to snap up gifts like these should learn to play the lottery to potentially win millions in jackpot prizes.

A trip into space with Virgin Galactic - $250 000

Imagine soaring into the skies and breaking the limits of our atmosphere as you pierce through and enter space itself. For many, becoming an astronaut is impossible but for those who have a cool quarter million dollars to spare, they can become part of the crew on the Virgin Galactic. A 700 seater spacecraft will take the lucky passengers into orbit sometime in 2016 but it may already be too late to book a seat. If that's the case, there are thankfully many other competing space tourism options such as SpaceX to consider.

Fonderie 47 Cufflinks $32 500

These cufflinks are extremely rare and almost impossible to purchase, even if you have the cash. Only twenty exist and the cufflinks (that transform into a bracelet) are made from gold and the metals from a retrieved AK-47 assault rifle. The sale of these cufflinks will go directly to groups that find and destroy these illegal weapons in Africa, where they sell for a quarter of the price when compared to the rest of the world. One pair of Fonderie 47 Cufflinks sold equals one hundred guns destroyed and if you're interested in owning these, you'll have to know the right people, it's as simple (and complicated) as that.

Amour, amour dog collar - $3.2 million

Do you love your puppy enough to spend millions on it, just for a trinket? Some may, and this collar with over 1600 diamonds (with one that is an enormous 7-carat diamond) is set into a crocodile leather collar. It's a ridiculous concept of course, but someone is likely to purchase it.

An entire floor of the Burj Khalifa

Being ultra-wealthy means that you can do pretty much whatever you want for the people you love. Or in other words, you can buy an entire floor of the world's tallest building, the Burj Khalifa. An extraordinarily rich businessperson from the UK purchased the 19th floor in this tower and while his wife, a Bollywood film star, had enjoyed it, they later sold it as it was apparently, too small. An entire floor of a hotel was too small!

A bag of coffee... for $5000

When you've truly reached a point where money is just a set of ever-increasing numbers in a bank account, consider purchasing this coffee for a real pick-me-up. Terra Neva, from the Peruvian Andes comes in a 100% sterling silver bag and luckily for you, a coffee machine is included with the price. It's known as the caviar of coffees, and apparently it tastes like drinking warm silk.
