The latest EuroMillions lottery winner has finally been found after an extensive search by the National lottery. And their prize? An astonishing £25 million.
While the winner has now claimed their exceptional prize, they have decided to remain anonymous (a legal option for EuroMillions lottery winners).
Camelot lottery, the national UK lottery operator, confirmed the win last Friday, 12 February 2016. It has validated the winner, and it's been paid out - so there's someone out there who's now an instant millionaire, thanks to the lottery. The anonymous lottery winner didn't even have to share a penny of his £25 million win, as they were the only one to match the numbers of the draw.
Over the past week, four new lottery millionaires have come forward. There was even a winner on Saturday who won £32 million in the latest EuroMillions draw. According to the National lottery, that's over 4000 millionaires made since the inception of the lottery itself.
The UK lottery is extremely happy with the win, saying that
"We're delighted the latest big EuroMillions winner has come forward and is now able to begin enjoying their amazing prize. This weekend has been truly life changing for National Lottery players with two amazing jackpots won in just two days. As well as offering a chance to win life-changing prizes, National Lottery games like EuroMillions raise over £34m every week for projects that make a real difference to communities across the UK."
This is most definitely not the biggest EuroMillions win of all time. But these are:
- £161 million - Colin and Chris (2011)
- £148 million - Gillian and Adrian Bayford (2012)
- £113 million - anonymous (2010)
- £107 million - Neil Trotter (2014)
- £101 million - Dave and Angela Dawes (2011)
