Porsche to build fully electric car

Elon Musk has created one of the most enticing ideas ever: what if we no longer have to rely on fuel to power our cars or electricity to run our homes?

This palatable reality came true a few years back with the release of Elon Musk's Tesla battery powered vehicles and the Powerwall, two innovations set to change the future.

Now, Tesla's Roadster may not be to everyone's liking, especially for the supercar devotees out there. For them, Porsche has conjured up an unbelievable vehicle with the Mission E model, a fully electric Porsche currently in development.

It's going to be a 600-horsepower beast that can accelerates to 100/km in under 3.5 seconds and reach 500/km on a single charge. For Porsche, this is the beginning of a brand new chapter for the century old German automobile maker. The Mission E model will use specially produced lithium-ion batteries located in the floor of the vehicle and apparently, will be able to charge to almost full capacity in under 15 minutes. This car is not meant for the Tesla crowd and will be very different to the Tesla, according to those involved with the production of the Mission E model. There are also plans to include a wireless charging method, as an induction coil will be added to the garage wherever this incredible electric car is housed.

The heads-up display will be fully touchscreen as well, and the car will include an eye-tracking function to ensure that the panel is always at the correct eye-level regardless of where you look. Even more peculiar is a "mood-tracking sensor" that lets you know how you're feeling via dashboard emoticons.

This will be the very first electric powered Porsche vehicle, but don't expect it too soon, as the first production model is said to roll off the production line by 2020. So lotto winners should save a bit of their fortune or invest their money now to ensure that they can purchase this incredible vehicle four years from now.
